https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2020/08/jehovahs-witness-sexual-abuse-report-can-stay-online-judge-rules/.
The report has appeared on various websites and this, the judge, said, ‘negates any sense of urgency about removal or rectification’.
For context: when the report was about to be released to the public, Watchtower started a preliminary injunction procedure to stop publication of the report.
They lost, and the report was published the same day.
Watchtower appealed the verdict.
They now lost this appeal, as the judge recognizes that a preliminary injunction doesn't make sense anymore anyway as the report has already been published.
Watchtower also demanded that the Minister of Justice would send a letter to the House of Representatives instructing them to disregard the report.
To that the judge ruled that 1) he has no authority to tell the Minister what to do and 2) the Minister has no authority to tell the Representatives what to do. That demand was thus rejected as unconstitutional.
Imho the next logical move for Watchtower could be to start a regular court case, but a newspaper reports they are considering petitioning the Supreme Court. Given the logical arguments of the judge and the nature of preliminary injunction proceedings, I don't think Watchtower will get lucky there.
anyone here thats a former mormon?
a person in the internet wrote abouth them.
that community could not be more impressive in its cohesion, sincerity, benevolence, decency, patriotism, and faith.. i seen mormons go from house to house before the convid virus.they always seem cheerful.
The stories in the exmormon community (https://www.reddit.com/r/exmormon/ ) are very similar to exjw stories.
and this isn't a cult?
just saw my wife put on her name tag for the zoom assembly.... what the what?
i thought these things werent even live.
Of course wearing a team shirt isn't really the same as having a name badge on in your own home...it's rather silly to identify yourself when home alone or with your family...
It can be compared to someone insisting to visibly wear his work security badge while watching a work instruction video from home....and then proudly shares selfies he did it just like that.
Wearing a name badge for convention is just another sacred JW tradition....of the type they criticize other religions for.
there is apparently an interview being circulated among jw.
me and my pimi wife got it several times.
its from some kind of tv station in us.
On JWtalk they say the presenter's mom is a JW, and he used to be.one too.
i hear that all wt payroll personal in the uk are now in full lockdown/sheilding mode until november..
@fulano, you entirely deserved them with all the free slave labour you did for Watchtower.
And what happened? Someone knocked your teeth in field service? Or an elder meeting? ;-)
i'm new to the forum.
i'm an ex-jw who actually faded from jws.
i'm here to drop by every once in a while to ask a question or two.
the bottom line for fundamentalist Christian belief is that Jesus believed that Adam and Eve were real and historical people. And the Christian faith is based on that belief
Would it surprise you to learn not all mainstream churches subscribe to a literalist interpretation of Adam and Eve?
this is a great movie.
it documents how dangerous the left is.
its on the verge of destroying the country.
It documents how dangerous the left is. Its on the verge of destroying the country. No common sense and the out and out hate for free speech.
What is most dangerous is an "us vs them" mentality.
It hinders civilized conversation. It stops people from trying to understand each other's viewpoints and arguments, and doesn't help finding mutual goals, let alone solutions that may work for everyone.
In the end, almost all people want the same things. Safety. Housing. Food. Health. A decent job. Happiness. Some freedom.
Doesn't matter whether they vote for this candidate or another, or what their beliefs are, or their race and background.
In reality there is no "the left" nor "the right".
There's only a lot of individuals all wanting more or less the same things, with different ideas about how to get there.
It would help to listen to each other in other to understand and work together to find acceptable ways to reach the common goals.
do you think there is a group or individuals that have taken the role as slave class and fulfilled the requirement?
think they all failed miserable.
Who says there was, is, or ever will be a 'slave class'?
Aren't the second half of Matth. chapter 24 and chapter 25 simply a couple of parables intended to make each individual Christian stay alert, and do what they can for Jesus?
Is there a group of people who have taken the role of 5 wise virgins? 5 unwise virgins?
Is there a group of people represented by each of the slaves in the parable of the bags of gold (Matt. 25)?

Grandiose delusions.
Also the video department is running on a tight budget it seems?
"Hey this CO's nephew can sort of animate the drawings from 2018....that should do it!"
